Aloha kakou,
Every month, I enjoy the opportunity to share with you the wonderful things that God is doing in the ministry of Lahaina Baptist Church. This month is split between sharing the great things as well as a few sad ones.
We are moving full steam ahead toward Easter weekend and all of our holiday mission work. First, we are beginning the month of March with prayer and preparation for GPS, or "God's Plan for Sharing," sponsored by the North American Mission Board. We are scheduling prayer walks, doorhangers and other events to saturate our community with the message of Christ. These will culminate with Easter but will be followed-up for four weeks after Easter. Be looking for these events and be ready to get involved!
The "He's Alive" celebration at Honokowai Beach Park is closing in. The sign-up sheet is available for you to choose what activity you can serve in, so be sure to make your plans for Saturday, April 3rd!
The sad news to bring is that in the coming months, our ohana will be giving our farewell "alohas" to several members as they are transitioning into new fields of ministry and life. We shared a time of fellowship for Lester and Robin Stickley on the 26th of February and they have already arrived at their new location in Colorado! We pray for God’s hand to lead them to serve and be involved in a local ministry in Colorado because He led them us several years ago and we have been blessed. Aloha Lester and Robin - a hui hou! The others that will be leaving in the coming months are preparing for this transition and we want to be faithful to support and prepare them for new ministries also. As we fondly celebrate their service with a farewell aloha, we will share the information with you.
Remember – God is in control! Let each day be filled with the incredible joy of walking with the King of all Creation! Do not let your joy be drained by the cares or stresses of this world, but let the trials refine and purify your faith in God. As you remain focused on Him and His plan for your life, we will truly shine for Christ and His glory.
Have a magnificent March living for Jesus. Get involved in the great things that God is doing in us, through us and all around us! Continue to pray for God to guide us in His mighty plans for LBC!!
